1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using MakeMyResume in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use the Service.

These Terms form a binding agreement between you and MakeMyResume. If you are using the Service on behalf of a company or other organization, you confirm that you have the authority to accept these Terms on that organization's behalf.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account and use MakeMyResume. If you are between 13 and the applicable age of majority, you may only use the Service with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian.

By using MakeMyResume, you represent that you meet these eligibility requirements. We reserve the right to request proof of age or to suspend accounts where we reasonably believe these requirements have not been met.

3. User Accounts

To access most features of MakeMyResume, you will need to create an account. When you do, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Keep your login credentials confidential and secure at all times
• Take responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account
• Notify us promptly at support@makemyresume.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account

We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to safeguard your account credentials. You may update your account information or delete your account at any time through your account settings.

4. Using MakeMyResume

MakeMyResume is designed to help you build and improve your career documents. You are welcome to use the Service to:

• Build and edit resumes with AI
• Get an ATS compatibility score
• Generate tailored cover letters
• Track job applications
• Match with relevant job opportunities
• Identify skill gaps

To keep MakeMyResume safe and useful for everyone, you agree not to:

• Upload content that is illegal, defamatory, fraudulent, or infringes on someone else's rights
• Upload viruses, malware, or any code intended to damage or disrupt the platform
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, other accounts, or any non-public areas of the Service
• Abuse, overload, or attempt to manipulate our AI systems, including through prompt injection or automated scraping
• Copy, resell, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the platform, its code, or its AI workflows
• Interfere with, harass, or negatively impact other users' experience on the Service

We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action against any use of the Service that violates these Terms.

5. AI Features

MakeMyResume uses artificial intelligence to help you generate resumes, cover letters, ATS scores, skill-gap insights, and personalized recommendations. These tools are designed to save you time and offer useful guidance — not to replace your own judgment.

You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying any AI-generated content before using it, submitting it to an employer, or relying on it in any way. AI output may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or not fully suited to your specific situation.

6. User Content

You retain full ownership of the resumes, cover letters, personal information, and any other content you upload or create using MakeMyResume ("User Content").

By uploading or creating User Content, you grant MakeMyResume a limited, non-exclusive license to access, store, and process that content solely for the purpose of providing the features and services you request — such as generating a resume, calculating an ATS score, or matching you with jobs. This license ends when you delete your content or close your account, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate backup purposes.

We do not sell your User Content, and we do not use it to train AI models for other users without your consent.

7. Intellectual Property

MakeMyResume owns all rights, title, and interest in and to the platform itself, including its software, design, user interface, resume templates, AI workflows, branding, and logos (collectively, "MakeMyResume IP"). Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership of MakeMyResume IP to you.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or reverse engineer any part of MakeMyResume IP, or use our branding or trademarks without our prior written permission. Your right to use the Service is a personal, limited, non-transferable license, granted subject to your compliance with these Terms.

8. Subscription and Payments

Certain features of MakeMyResume may be offered under paid subscription plans. Where paid plans are available, the following applies:

• Billing: subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis (e.g., monthly or annually), as described at the time of purchase
• Renewals: subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the end of the current billing period
• Cancellation: you may cancel at any time through your account settings; cancellation stops future billing but does not automatically refund the current period
• Refunds: where applicable, refunds are governed by our separate Refund Policy

If premium or paid features are not yet available at the time you are using the Service, please note that certain advanced features may require payment in the future. We will always communicate pricing clearly before charging you.

9. Third-Party Services

MakeMyResume relies on trusted third-party providers to deliver parts of the Service, including AI model providers, cloud hosting infrastructure, email delivery services, analytics tools, and payment processors.

These third parties operate under their own terms and privacy policies. While we carefully select our partners, MakeMyResume is not responsible for the performance, availability, or policies of third-party services that are outside our direct control.

10. Availability

We work hard to keep MakeMyResume available and reliable. However, the Service may occasionally be unavailable due to scheduled maintenance, updates, technical issues, or circumstances beyond our control.

We do not guarantee that the Service will be available on an uninterrupted, error-free, or continuous basis, and we are not liable for any inconvenience or loss resulting from downtime.

11. Disclaimer

MakeMyResume is provided as an educational and productivity tool to help you build stronger resumes and manage your job search more effectively. It is not a recruitment agency, a job placement service, or a guarantee of career outcomes.

MakeMyResume does not guarantee, promise, or warrant:

• Employment of any kind
• Interview invitations
• Salary increases
• Recruiter responses
• Any specific hiring decision

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MakeMyResume and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from, or related to, your use of the Service — including, but not limited to, loss of income, missed job opportunities, or data loss.

This limitation applies whether the claim is based on contract, tort, or any other legal theory, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold MakeMyResume, its team, and its partners harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

This obligation applies only to the extent such claims result from your own actions, and does not extend to claims caused by MakeMyResume's own negligence or breach of these Terms.

14. Account Suspension or Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without prior notice, if we reasonably believe you have engaged in:

• Fraudulent activity
• Abuse of the platform or its AI systems
• Illegal activity conducted through the Service
• A violation of these Terms
• Behavior that threatens the security of the platform or its users

Where reasonably possible, we will notify you of the reason for suspension or termination. You may also delete your own account at any time through your account settings or by contacting support@makemyresume.com.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our Service, legal requirements, or business practices. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you directly.

We encourage you to review these Terms periodically. Your continued use of MakeMyResume after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to MakeMyResume's place of operation, without regard to conflict of law principles. Nothing in this section limits any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have under the laws of your own country or region.
